Being a marriage and family therapist is a second half of life passion for me. My first career revolved around art and design, and then I became an educator where I was passionate about helping students meet their full potential. The skills and passions in my early careers have merged with my practice of therapy. Therapy is a creative process where I now use the advocacy, hope, and optimism I once had for my students with my clients.
I also use my life experiences to cultivate compassion and understand my clients. As a wife and mother of three children, I understand the context of what many of my clients face. I’ve navigated the changes that come with moving from early stages of marriage to launching children. I’ve experienced the challenges of caretaking parents as well as loss and grief.
Most importantly, I have felt the joy and comfort that can be experienced on the other side of life’s trials and adversity. This allows me to create a space of hope for my clients in which difficult periods in life can be transformative.
